Busy Week!
This week has been a very productive week! In reading and language arts, we focused on learning how to retell stories, understanding abbreviations, and practicing the capitalization rules. They read a challenging story called "Brontorina", which focused on the theme of never giving up on your dreams. In math the children have been learning how to add 3 single digit numbers and solving an unknown number in a true equation (4+7= 8+ ___). I have also been teaching them how to add 2-digit numbers by drawing out their tens and ones. We read "The Pilgrim's First Thanksgiving" so that they can understand why we celebrate Thanksgiving. In Social Studies they are learning about the important documents that guide the American citizens.
