All Special education records that have been maintained by the school district for more than 5 years after they were no longer needed, are now scheduled to be destroyed.
Individuals that had testing done to determine eligibility or received services from Special Education staff need to notify the school with their preference for the removal of these files.
Options include: 1. Parent/Student may request the school district to shred all personally identifiable information contained in the Special Education files of the individual
2. Parent/Student may request the school district turn over all personally identifiable information contained in the file to the individual.
Parent/student may contact the school to obtain a form indicating their preference for removal of these Special Education records from the school district’s files.
If the school district has not been contacted or forms returned to the school by May 1, 2023, the school district assumes the right to shred all information of the individual contained in the Special Education file. In accordance with Nebraska Department of Education: Rule 51 - 009.03 Retention and Destruction of Information and Records

The Shickley Public School web site is now adaptable for viewing on all mobile devices. The good news is you have a choice on your viewing preference.
The next time you view our website on a tablet or smartphone, our web site will automatically detect your mobile device, display the mobile view and will remember it each time you return. If you change your mind, look for the “Full Site/Mobile” button on the footer of the web site to toggle back and forth.
In addition to view choices, our new mobile view offers additional features like:
In August 2012, Pew Internet Research reported 45 percent of American adult cell phone owners have a smartphone. In addition, 25 percent of American adults own a tablet computer. Those numbers are expected to increase. Anticipating this, our website provider, SOCS, helped us get ready for the trend by providing a mobile view of our web site.
SOCS, a leading web-hosting company, furnishes websites for school districts, hospitals, municipalities and other community non-profits. This service is provided by the Foundation for Educational Services, in Lincoln Nebraska.
