Philosophy of Teaching:

Every person has great potential and value and deserves to be challenged to become successful in his or her "own way." Whether directly or indirectly, teachers have multiple opportunities to offer insight, knowledge, experience, wisdom, positive attitudes, humor and the enjoyment of learning to build a better future. To be a facilitating catalyst in this positive process brings ever-increasing future rewards, not only to the student, but also to the teacher. It is important that all those involved strive to make lifelong learning more accessible and relevant.

Favorite Part of Teaching:

I love to learn new things and be creative. The enthusiasm and variety of students push and encourage me to continually look for something "better" and "different." It truly makes life interesting and fun! Few jobs provide a person with so much room to be creative and autonomous each day!

Hobbies:

Reading (especially history and factual information), art work, paper crafts, designing quilts, calligraphy, traveling and exploring, going to museums, collecting rocks, finding star constellations, enjoying life...I have an insatiable curiosity about a multitude of things and a great love of learning.

Past:

I was born in Salina, Kansas, and grew up on a farm near Bennington, Kansas (eleven miles north of Salina), with most of my relatives living within a 25 mile radius. My parents are Bill and Jean Neaderhiser. (My dad was quite well known as an old time piano player around the area, but he died in 2008. My mom still lives in Salina.) I have one brother, Steve, who is 5 years younger than myself, and he lives in Smolan, Kansas.
