Superintendent

Welcome to Shickley Public Schools. I am honored to serve as the superintendent as we
continue to provide exceptional small-town experiences for our youth in a setting that nurtures
children to become productive, engaged adults. From educational opportunities for our
youngest Longhorns to career and college readiness opportunities for high schoolers, Shickley is
truly one-of-kind.
During my second year as Superintendent at Shickley the administrative team plans to make
strides in bringing additional offerings for high school students. Some of those include a Digital
Media curriculum as well as courses focusing on Career and Technical Education through the
offering of construction and woodworking classes. Additionally, all high school students will get
increased exposure to career education courses which focus on soft skills, career awareness,
and enhanced job shadowing opportunities deemed essential by the Nebraska Department of
Education.
Leading any school district can be a challenging job, but Shickley has a team of hard-working,
caring teachers and staff who are willing to pitch in and do whatever it takes to for the
betterment of our kids and the community. We work to instill those same characteristics in
students through the Longhorn Way. It is a motto the district uses to encourage positive
interaction, kindness, hard work, encouragement, and a constructive approach to problems.
The future of the district is strong. Numbers in our lower grades look promising and the district
continues to manage its finances in a fiscally responsible manner. School leaders have identified
updates that need to be implemented to keep ahead of academic and logistical changes and
plans are underway to ensure a bright future for Shickley students and a vibrant community. It
is an honor to work in a small school with the community support that Shickley enjoys. My
goals are to lead, manage, and ensure a strong and stable school now and enhance
opportunities for future Longhorns.
