Esser Funds

The school district received $52,209 in federal funding from the Elementary and Secondary school Emergency Relief Fund.  The core purpose of ESSER funds is to provide direct money to school districts to support areas impacted by the disruption from COVID-19, which includes both:

1) Continuing to provide educational services while schools are closed, such as remote learning; and
2) Developing and implementing plans for the return to normal operations.

Shickley Public Schools intends to use these funds for a) equipment and supplies for COVID related services such as protective gear, thermometers, masks, cleaning and sanitizing products, and other similar medical-related or cleaning and sanitation; b) technology to support remote learning and 1:1 learning learning such as Chromebooks and computers; and c) curriculum and learning materials for updated curriculum, speciality material for identified student needs, or supplemental materials for existing curriculum.
