Dear Families:

Get ready to celebrate the love of reading with our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair! We will have many fun reading activities and events planned for your child as part of the Fair. To begin, the week before the book fair we will start our All for Books Coin Drive. This year, one of our Book Fair goals is to ensure as many children as possible have access to and receive books. One of the ways we can do this is through the All for Books program. With your help, donations will purchase books for our school library and individual classroom libraries.

Not only does your donation/coin collection help our cause but Scholastic Book Fairs will match monetary donations with a donation of up to $1 million in books from the Scholastic Possible Fund, which distributes books to children in need through organizations such as Kids In Need Foundation, Reader to Reader, Inc., and the National Center for Families Learning.

To create a friendly competition amongst staff members, students will be placing their coins in the teacher’s jar in which they want to see dressed up as a unicorn fairy during book fair week. The faculty participating in this event are; Mr. Sokol, Mrs. Coffey, Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Mosier, Mr. Schroeder, and Miss Witte.

Our All For Books challenge will run the week before the book fair starts: October 29th-November 2nd. The teacher with the most amount of money in their jar, will wear a unicorn fairy costume all week of the book fair. There will also be multiple ways in which students can donate throughout the book fair week.

On behalf of the students, and teachers at our school, thank you for donating your loose change for such a great cause!
