The Oral Tradition - Class of 2017

The 9th grade class has been learning about the oral tradition, including many types of literature that have been passed down through generations by word of mouth.  As part of this unit they have written their own myths and fables.  A myth is a story that explains objects or events in the natural world as resulting from some supernatural force or entity, most often a god/goddess.  A fable is a brief story, often with animal characters, told to express a moral.  Students have demonstrated their understanding of these genres by composing and presenting their own stories; you are invited to read them: Oral Tradition_Class of 2017
